#i love this scene #i love this boy #i love these idiots #this is gorgeous #he’s so blase about it #about completing the circle of what he expects his arc is #of managing to make a small difference to something even if not to someone #and that’s all that he will ever amount to #and just #the fact that he’s camouflaged himself as a tree #and she literally strips away the things he uses to hide himself #to make himself protected (whether physically or emotionally) #and it all gets laid bare in the cave #she pushes him to honesty #about himself and his place in the world and his relationship to people #and in turn he makes her cognizant of her own vulnerability #everything is performance until it isn’t #everything becomes revelation #the capitol may have ~made them but never doubt anything’s will to survive #characters engaged in the act of reshaping their own narrative #mirrors and reflection and revelation everywhere
